Using points or miles to fly

Many people ask if they can use airline or credit card points to fly - YES!

We don't require that you be on a specific flight, just that you arrive by and depart no earlier than certain times...and that is only for group transfers to/from hotels. If you want to get there yourself and/or stay an extra day (or more), you can arrive and depart whenever you wish!

-IF you are a responsible user of credit cards, earning points/miles you can use for "award" seats on airlines can be a good strategy. We do not recommend doing this if you cannot pay your balance each month or are at risk of overspending.

- There are many factors to consider: which airline you are likely to fly, what your typical monthly spend that can be put on credit cards is, what your credit rating is (and how many cards you have now), when you will fly & how flexible you can be, etc.

- There is NO guarantee that points you earn will equate to a free flight but, if you are persistent and responsible, you will eventually earn enough points/miles to fly for free. We often fly for FREE using this strategy. Our ministry is a non-profit so this helps cut our personal cost to travel with you.

- IF you have 6 months or more before you need to book your flight and you want to try this strategy, we are happy to refer you to credit cards that will give you the most benefit and be the most flexible (in our opinion). The best one to start with is the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. Use this link for the best return on your effort.
